Hannah Plom

Pilates Teacher Hannah Plom
Hannah Plom did her initial teacher training at the prestigious Body Control Pilates Centre, London in 2010. In February 2016 she passed the Body Control Pilates examination to teach on the Reformer, followed this with the Comprehensive Studio Certificate exam in August 2022, and the Studio Master Teacher examination in February 2024.

Having experienced lower back pain, Hannah appreciates the importance of spinal mobilisation - her decision to train as a Pilates teacher came from this understanding and her desire to share the benefits - and her love - of Pilates with others. More recently she used Pilates extensively to aid recovery from hip surgery, and uses it on a daily basis to control her hypermobility and protect her joints.

Hannah is currently working towards a Level 4 qualification - the Certificate in Instructing Applied Pilates Mat Work with Body Control Pilates. This qualification was the 1st in the UK at this - the highest - level of achievement within the health and fitness industry. It demonstrates the advanced knowledge and skills to teach Pilates across a very broad spectrum of clients, including special population groups and those involved in specific activities. The qualification is endorsed by Ofqual and accredited by Active IQ.

Hannah holds a current First Aid Certificate.

Hannah has completed additional training and workshops with highly respected Body Control Pilates teachers and authors Lynne Robinson, Miranda Bass, Nathan Gardner, Carmela Trappa and Lisa Bradshaw.

She has also attended face-to-face training with Pilates elders Mary Bowen and Lolita San Miguel; 2nd Generation teachers Brooke Siler, Alan Herdman, Michael Fritz and Ton Vooght, Amy Kellow, Kathy Corey, Rebecca Convey, Cara Reeser; and others including Eric Franklin, Rebekah Rottstein, Amy Havens, Julie Driver, Lesley Logan, Alison Salmond, Jenna Zaffino, Maria Earle, Tom McCook, James Earles and many others!

Hannah has also taken the opportunity to participate in many other CPD opportunities live online and was excited to study further with many of the above presenters, and others - such as Cameron Angus, Brent Anderson, Shan Alphin and Michael King - during the Covid lock-downs in 2020-21. She has subsequently taken further workshops with some of them, and also virtually worked with others including Anula Maiberg, Maria Earl and Madeline Black.

Hannah was honoured to be invited by Shan Alphin to feature on video recordings for Body Control Pilates Central.

Body Control Pilates has a network of Supervising Teachers across the UK. Hannah is proud to be part of this team since 2021. The role involves allowing Student Teachers to gain real-life teaching experience, refining their skills by teaching under supervision. All students have completed their formal training modules and passed a practical assessment before they can commence their teaching practice. Hannah loves mentoring student teachers, sharing her knowledge to help trainee teachers grow and watching them along their teaching journeys!

Hannah holds a REPS Certified Level 3 Pilates qualification, the Body Control Pilates Studio Master Teacher Certificate, a current First Aid certificate and is fully insured (including Public Liability Insurance) through the BCPA/Balens.

Hannah is an active member of the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA), is a Founder Member of the Body Control Pilates Academy, is a member of the Society for the Pilates Method, is a registered Back4Good Professional with Backcare (the National Back Pain Association), a member of the Royal Osteoporosis Society, and has completed the below further qualifications and courses to date.
