Hannah Plom - Body Control Pilates Mat Master and Studio Master Teacher

Pilates Teacher Hannah Plom

Hannah Plom completed her initial teacher training at the prestigious Body Control Pilates Centre in London in 2010. In February 2016, she passed the Body Control Pilates examination to teach on the Reformer, following by the Comprehensive Studio Certificate examination in August 2022 and the Studio Master Teacher examination in February 2024. She added the Mat Master Teacher Certificate to her qualifications in February 2025.

Having experienced lower back pain, Hannah appreciates the importance of spinal mobilisation. Her decision to train as a Pilates teacher came from this understanding and her desire to share the benefits... and her love of the practice with others. More recently, she used Pilates extensively to aid her recovery from hip surgery, and uses it daily to manage her hypermobility and protect her joints.

Having discovered Total Body Walking in autumn 2024, Hannah quickly became hooked. Describing it as "Pilates upright and outside", she feels it complements her Pilates practice perfectly. She qualified as an Instructor with Nordic Walking UK in spring 2025 and Total Body Walking formed an integral part of her hip surgery rehabilitation.

Hannah is currently working towards a Level 4 qualification - the Certificate in Instructing Applied Pilates Mat Work with Body Control Pilates. This qualification was the first in the UK at this, the highest, level of achievement within the health and fitness industry. It demonstrates the advanced knowledge and skills required to teach Pilates across a very broad spectrum of clients, including special population groups and those involved in specific activities. The qualification is endorsed by Ofqual and accredited by Active IQ.

Body Control Pilates have a network of Supervising Teachers across the UK. Hannah has been proud to be part of this team since 2021. The role involves allowing student teachers to gain real-life teaching experience, and refine their skills by teaching under supervision. All students have completed their formal training modules and passed a practical assessment before they can commence their teaching practice. Hannah loves mentoring student teachers, sharing her knowledge to help trainee teachers grow and watching them develop along their teaching journeys!

Hannah holds a current First Aid Certificate.
